A large audience gathered for an exceptional evening, marked by both global and local attendance, at the annual Mariam Foundation concert, Mariam’s Angels: Prayer and Peace.

The event was attended by prominent figures from the community, including religious leaders, bishops, ambassadors, and consuls representing various countries. The atmosphere was filled with hope and peace, emphasizing the profound humanitarian message carried by the Mariam Foundation.

This year’s concert highlighted the struggles of our people in Gaza, particularly cancer patients. During the holiday season, it is essential to remember the values of love and generosity and to extend support to those in need, especially cancer patients.

In his speech, Mr. Muhammad Hamed, founder of the Mariam Foundation, spoke about the organization’s role in serving cancer patients. He highlighted the tremendous efforts made to support sick children in Palestine and their families. He also reaffirmed the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to supporting cancer patients in Gaza by providing essential medications and helping them access treatment abroad. He stated, “We are here to light a new candle of hope for everyone who needs us, carrying a message of solidarity and love that inspires everyone.”

The concert featured a moving performance by the Tarshiha Art Ensemble, led by Maestro Hossam Haick. Their voices resonated with Christmas hymns that carried a message of peace from the city of annunciation to the world. Every note and every word was a prayer for humanity and a symbol of hope amid the challenging times we face.

Bishop Rafic Nahra, the Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Galilee, emphasized in his speech that Christmas is not merely a commemoration but a call to action and prayer for achieving peace. He said, “The Christmas spirit that unites us here is a constant reminder of the necessity of love and joint efforts to overcome difficulties and bring peace to the world.”

The Mariam Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Tarshiha Ensemble for their outstanding performance and to the Basilica of the Annunciation for its continued hospitality, reflecting values of love and peace. “Prayer and Peace” was more than just an evening; it was a message of hope and love sent by the Mariam Foundation from the heart of Nazareth to the world, reaffirming the continuation of the annual Mariam’s Angels evenings that contribute to spreading hope and peace within the community.
